been awhile...

I keep thinking I should just sit down and get some blogging done. We are feeling pretty deep into life transitions, so this hasn't been top of my list. However, now that I posted a few recent events, it feels good to cross that off my mental list. Here's the most recent on our family:

On Jake's third birthday, April 13, we had someone place an offer on our house, it was a bit lower than we were hoping for, so we countered and they accepted the next day. I have been amazed at how the Lord is providing for our family. When we first listed our house, I began praying for the family that will move in here. I selfishly also asked that He might not send them until after school was out so I would have time to pack. I've been humbled to discover how carefully He already had my best interests in mind through this process. The buyers are currently renting, so we don't have a contingency on the sale, they must also have school-age kids, because they didn't want to close until the end of May. This gives me a week after school is out to pack things up. I've already begun packing. However, knowing that we'll possibly spend the next 6 months living out of boxes in Pat's parents' basement is making me really think through which box to put things into.

So, I've had a lot on my mind - I haven't taken many pictures, but here is a glimps into the pieces of life we caught on film! :)

A simple Easter

In hopes of not totally loosing sight of why we really celebrate Easter, we decided to play down the egg hunts and chocolate bunnies this year and try to focus more attention on Jesus' gift of grace on the cross. I don't know if the kids really got it, but it was nice to just take the holiday for how it began and not get so into the material things that have been added to Easter. We had a simple hunt for a Berenstien Bear video and then tried to read the story of Easter morning with the kids at breakfast. I'm pretty sure Jake and Emily both picked up on parts of the story, last year Emily asked a lot of questions about why Jesus had to die, so maybe this year a little more sunk in.

Even with three kids to keep us busy, we are still so in love. I am so blessed to be raising a family with my best friend! :)

Overalls

The kids were headed to Goessel with Pat and decided it was a day for overalls! Too cute! :)

Happy Birthday Jake!

It's hard to believe that three years ago we were just meeting Jake, he has been such a joy in our lives. Jake, we love your laugh and contageous smile. we love your compassionate heart and caring spirit, we love your onery laugh when you tease your big sister just to get a rise out of her. we love your sense of adventure as you discover new things, we love the young man God is raising you to be.

Riding bike!

Jake wasn't blessed with super long legs, however, we finally found a bike that is short enough that his feet can reach the pedals. Jake is so pleased to be able to take it for a spin, although he's still working on it, he seems to have it figured out! It's hard to believe he's already so big!

3 months

It is so hard to beleive Jenna is already 3 months old, yet we can't even remember life before her! Jenna has been sharing such fun smiles with us, even though I have yet to catch it completely on film!! Here are a few of my best attempts! She is also sharing little giggles with us when we give her our attention!

We Love Snow!

Last weekend we got lots of snow and my parents got even more! They had nearly 16 inches. We went to enjoy a lazy afternoon at their house, the kids had fun playing in the deep snow! They each made a snow person with Grammy - as we drove to Inman, we saw someone else had used a wig on their snowman, so we tried it ourselves!












I think Jake felt invinsible with his snow clothes on as he tromped around the yard!
Jenna and Gramps spent their afternoon in the warmth of a snuggle! What a great way to spend the day!!
