Sidewalk City

On the cooler mornings we are enjoying playing outside as much as possible (this leads to much better naps). I was trying to come up with something fun to play that I wouldn't need to be constantly involved with so I can attend to Jenna, or just get something done! This was what we came up with:

We drew a city complete with houses, church, fire dept., police dept., school and some space to drive around. The kids had fun parking the cars where they should be. Emily even drew a long driveway with just rock (that's as far along on our new house as we are currently) so the construction vehicles have a place to work!

Jenna's hair

Jenna's hair continues to grow as fast as she seems to be. Already she's five months old, she's enjoying rolling over, eating cereal and sititng up. Suddenly our baby's not a baby anymore!! I've been experimenting with her hait, it seems so hot and long, so here's what we've got so far...

Just a clip pulling some to the side.

One piggy holding up most of the really long stuff...

Two piggies - She suddenly looks so old!! Yikes

Teamwork at it's best!

Emily and Jake have been playing at Pat's parents house each day a bit after Bible school. We went there for lunch because ending at noon didn't give us much flexibility for hungry tummies! They had great fun each day driving ALL over their yard with this little John Deer. Jake pretended to mow the yard just like Grandpa - he even took it to the corral to dump the clippings for the cows! Today after lunch this is what I came out to see!! They had run the batteries out at the end of the drive! It was neat to see them working on getting it home together! :) I love these kids!!

New Park!

We found this park when driving around the other night. It's different than any of the other parks we play at here in Newton. The kids think this is pretty fun. Lots to climb on, but not as many slides and platforms...
Grammy joined us yesterday when we had to clear out of our house so someone could come look. The kids are going to think selling your house is just a big adventure, because each time someone want to see it, we go to a park!
Emily using the new slide, it's amazing how unnerving it is to try to slide down this edgeless (is that a word??) slide. It starts with a steep decline and a curve - even Grammy and I were a little unsure when we gave it a try! Jake only did it once and was ready to find other things to do.
